MS Word 2016 Shortcuts Explained Part Four

Hello! In this the 4th part of Microsoft Word 2016 shortcuts explanation series I will be explaining shortcuts for font size in MS Word. I will also explain how to move around within a line and a paragraph. As before I have tested all of these shortcuts before publishing. I have also provided detail according to my knowledge and usage. I hope this will help you become more efficient user in MS Word 2016.

Note: You can skip the following points if you are following my posts.

Points to consider:

  • Some of these shortcuts might not work in all versions of Microsoft Word (As I was able to test these only in MS Word 2016).
  • Device without function keys (F1-F12) on its keyboard i.e. Chrome book, certain shortcuts will not work for you.
  • The plus sign means you have to press both mentioned keys together.

Font Size Increase

Ctrl + Shift + >

  • Used for Increasing Font Size.
  • It will increase the selected font +1pts up to 12pt and then increase font size by +2pts.

Ctrl + ]

  • This one is also used for Increasing Font Size.
  • It will increase the selected font size by +1pts.

Font Size Decrease

Ctrl + Shift + <

  • Used for Increasing Font Size.
  • It will Decrease selected font -1pts if 12pt or lower, if above 12, decreases font by +2pt.

Ctrl + [

  • This one is also used for Increasing Font Size.
  • It will decrease the selected font size by +1pts.

Ctr + Shift + L

  • Use this shortcut key for quickly creating a bullet point.
  • If you want to make the text normal use Ctr + Shift + N.

Ctr + Right Arrow Key

  • Use this short cut key to move the cursor one word to the right.
  • Also note the if you have a full stop this short cut will consider the full-stop as a word too.

Ctr + Left Arrow Key

  • Use this short cut key to move the cursor one word to the left.
  • Also note the if you have a full stop this short cut will consider the full-stop as a word too.

Ctr + Up Arrow Key

  • Use this short cut to move to the cursor beginning of the line or paragraph.

Ctr + Down Arrow Key

  • Use this short cut to move the cursor to the end of the paragraph.

Ctr + Home Key

  • Use this shortcut to move the cursor to the beginning of the document.

Ctr + End Key

  • This short cut will move the cursor to the end of the document.
